I do not think that it is all that difficult in truth. As long as you have a well designed and optimised website the most important thing you need is backward links and lots of them. It is essential that you use a variety of key phrases for these links. Where possible it is of far greater benefit to obtain a one way link. Some people choose to purchase a link on a high ranking page of a website as it can be difficult to persuade a webmaster to include your link for no reason or benefit to them.
For me the best way of obtaining one way links is by writing articles like the one you are reading. People are able to use these articles on their websites thus creating a one way link.

So you have paid a lot of money for the web design and now have a professional looking website. It has been “live” on the internet for at least a month but you are not receiving any visitors to the site. So what can one do? Yes now is the time for the all important web promotion of the site. Oh no, you may be thinking. “I do not really have the cash for web promotion after paying for the web hosting, the domain and the web designer to build the site. I do not have a lot of money left over to promote the site as well.
I here this on a regular basis. I offer a link building service in the UK and I have a lot of enquiries from people who had just presumed that their site would be able to achieve high rankings within Google purely by the skill and knowledge of the web designer. This unfortunately is rarely the case unless, of course they have paid for such a service.
So here are my four killer web promotion techniques. They have worked for many websites including a friends fostering website.
1. Start by deciding which phrases or keywords that you are hoping to achieve a high ranking for and ensure that they appear on the homepage.
2. Try to obtain one-way backward links via a link building campaign.
3. Write quality articles and submit them to the popular article marketing directories. This is of benefit for a number of reasons; it helps to spread the message of the service/products that you provide; it enhances your reputation within the market plave and it also enables you to gain backward links
4. Add additional fresh and unique content to the site on a monthly basis.
