Get a Blog And Make Money

Blogging for Profit Begins With a Long Term Plan
Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal
is not far beyond the reach of someone with average
intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic
grasp of the latest blogging technologies. However, very few
people can easily make a profit from their
blog. Most people who attempt to make money with
their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often,
bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their
readership will grow and how much money they will
make, and when these expectations are not met the
disappointment can crush the desire to continue
blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into
has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a
profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a
realistic plan and stick with it.
To make money from blogging, the main thing that
you will need is a large readership. The higher your
traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you.
However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will
need in order to make a profit isnt easy. As more and
more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a
wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get
attention. You need to be able to market your blog
effectively.
Too many bloggers waste time creating their own posts
and usually not enough time marketing their project. To be
certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to
keep your blog well up on blogrolls and high in blog
search engines like technorati, and once your readers
know that you update frequently they will return to your
site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how
often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don’t
skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to
your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a
reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using
some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up
link exchange websites with other bloggers, making contacts in
the blog community, and following other established
modes of winning traffic.
Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a
really clever business idea for a blog, success is not going to
happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that
blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all
likelihood it will be at least several months before you
are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed
to your blogging project during this initial rough period.
To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will
update and how many people you need to attract, and
then you can be rewarded for sticking with your plan.
However, there are now some excellent software sollutions
to some of the above stated problems.
It is quite easy now, for a small fee, to turn your “Hobby”
blog into a successful “Home Based Business” opportunity.
If you have the desire, the need, and the time, to dedicate
yourself to learning how to market your blog, it is quite
possible to turn your blog into a full time money making
venture. But be warned! There are no “Get Rich Quick”
solutions. Running any business whether online or off
takes time, some cash, and patience!
Bloggers Tips and Tricks For Managing a Successful Blog
December 8, 2008 by · 1 Comment
These days, it is fairly easy to set up a simple blog for personal use or even for a small business. There are an ever increasing number of tools and software programs available nowadays to help bloggers design their blogs and get them online in record time. In fact, most of these programs don’t even require a budding blogger to learn coding or programming in order to create a simple, yet attractive new blog.
The fact of the matter is that there isn’t even very much technical knowledge, skill or experience required these days to become a blogger and have your own successful money making blog once you have an internet marketing strategy in place. Most people with average skills can put together a simple three to four page blog in just a few hours of tinkering with a brand new piece of blog development software.
In the internet culture of today, putting up a new blog and getting it rolling is not much of a mystery anymore to most people. However, the thing that does trip up many bloggers and is most challenging to them is figuring out how to tell the world that their new site is actually “there.” Without visitors, no amount of work to make a site attractive will make any difference at all.
For people who are building a personal blog and who will send out an email to all their friends and family to view their new blog, this is probably not even a problem and they perhaps might even prefer that strangers don’t find it. But, the lack of blog traffic can be terribly vexing for bloggers who have worked hard, even if it was only a few hours, to put up a new site with some good web content in order to help promote their business or to try to start selling something online.
All too often, someone with plans to make money blogging will complete their new blog and then sit back and check their numbers every half hour, only to see that the only person visiting the site is the themselves, or the search engine spiders. However, if there is some activity from those spiders from the search engines, then at least there is some hope.
One thing every blogger must learn to do is to utilize proper search engine optimization, or SEO techniques. This is the part that can be much more complex and time consuming to learn than the technical aspects of building a webpage and taking care of the blog hosting. SEO entails a number of things, in order to attract the attention of those search engine spiders and get them to index the site with a high ranking.
There are several blogs offering keyword tools and great advice about blogging for money. A few of of these resources go into great detail about how to do proper search engine optimization. With a bit of perseverance, even a newbie can take the information they can find about SEO and apply it to their blog and eventually they will start to see their site climb in the rankings for certain keyword phrases.
bloggers have to identify the main keywords that their target audience will use when they employ a search engine. With this information in mind, the content can be optimized for those keywords, as well as other on-page elements that can help the page rank well for that search term. With this kind of search engine optimization, careful monitoring of the blog statistics, some additional tweaking and some patience, the natural traffic from search engine listings will start to bring traffic to the site.
