Home Business - Touch Your Business Everyday!
Hard to believe this year is nearly half over!! Doesn’t time pass quickly! How are you going with the goals you set for working your home business in the New Year? Are they on target? Or has life got in the way of all your dreams and hopes and you are not producing the results you intended? It’s so easy to lose your way when you work from home. There are so many distractions when you work at home it is easy to fall behind on your goals.
In order to achieve the results we all want from our business, we really need to touch our business everyday. Obviously by this I don’t mean you can never miss a day, but especially when it is a new business, you need to make a regular effort. Your busines will not grow if you try to build it in fits and starts. I know, because I did it! Because I had never worked from home before, I would let little things stop me from working and then think ‘oh well its time to make dinner now, I can’t work now’! Almost any excuse would keep me away!
Then I realised that every time I stopped working for a few days, I stopped generating leads for my business. Which is not good! Now I do a little work everyday. Just a few minutes each day will ensure I am being seen online. I can get up a bit earlier in the morning or I can stay up a bit later at night. And of course, I can always turn off the tv! And even if I am away from home, I can brainstorm ideas for future articles or videos!
So don’t let your life or your children stop you from building your home based business. You have to make your children, or your family, the actual REASON that you are doing the business, instead of making them an excuse for not doing it! Looking at it like that, you should be able to commit to working each day. Think about the future, and what this business can give you! It can give you time and money freedom to ensure you have a wonderful family life! It can give you a great, comfortable future!
If you have let your home business slide, now is the time to pull out the stops and re-commit to putting in the effort. Decide how much time you will spend on your business everyday. Make a plan of what you intend to achieve this year, then work backwards to find out how much you need to do each week to achieve your goals.
Make it into a big colourful chart and put it up where you work, so you can see clearly what you are meant to be doing each week, or each day. That way you won’t be sitting in front of your computer thinking ‘what should I be doing?’
Decide that even if you may have let the first half of the year slip by, you will grab the rest of the year by the short and curlies and work it!!
