Making Money Online, Why It Doesn’t Have To Be Difficult

May 3, 2009 by

Making money on the internet can be made very simple for anyone.

Here’s what making money as an internet marketer should boil down to: Making sales from products bought by people to whom you sent an email.

Why is it that so many aspiring marketers are failing with their internet businesses and websites?

There are several reasons for this and all of them are simple marketing methods every online business person should be doing.

The way sites are being designed is one very big reason that online businesses are failing. Amateur copywriters and newbies don’t achieve very good conversions with the traffic that is hitting their sites.  These webmasters are trying to make direct sales from product recommendations, reviews, and banners displayed.

Firstly, banner-blindness is a common condition these days, so banners just take up valuable space on you website that you could put to better use.

Secondly, you need to fight this banner-blindness by changing the ads on your sites every so often to see what is converting better, or at least getting more clicks.

Another reason for a lot of failed websites is the lack of a name capture mechanism used for list building purposes.  If people are immune to banners but your sites are getting traffic, don’t you think you should be building your list instead of just hoping your site makes sales all by itself by having the same banner up there forever?

You can and will make money with your websites if you use the traffic to your sites to build your list and make sales at the same time. It’s possible to do both, but first-time vistors who come to your site and see some banners won’t convert hightly.

Your highest traffic conversions will come from the emails that you send to your prospect list that you built. The prospects on your list who take your product emails and product recommendations seriously will trust you. They are more likely to buy from your recommendation than a first-time visitor whose trust you haven’t earned yet.

Time and again I’ve had people on marketing forums tell me that their product isn’t selling. Many of them had yet to make a single sale.

I would review their web pages and they weren’t all that good, then I’d ask them how they were promoting their product. The answer, nearly always, was through traffic exchanges and forum links.

So what I tell these people to do is create a very simple squeeze page an newsletter with 7-8 emails in them emphasizing the value of getting their product, and the sales always start coming in once they divert their attention from making direct sales to just building their list.

If you’re not building a list, that is one of the biggest internet marketing mistakes you could be making and I suggest that you change your focus a little to see how powerful this change in attitude will be for you.

When you see how well this works, you should work to automate you list building so that you can have your very own automated profit system.

Daniel Mcgonagle’s automated list building system generates 15-20 optins a day from just 3 of his websites
